Steven Ragsdale is a jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger, and    woodwind doubler from Southern California.

Steven has performed with a variety of groups, including the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, the Ladd McIntosh Big Band,  Bill Cunliffe's BACHanalia Big Band, the Buddy Rich Big Band Machine with Gregg Potter and Cathy Rich, the Pete Meyers Big Band, and  the  Luke Carlson Big Band. He has also  worked with  many other projects and studio sessions with big bands, composers, pop artists and orchestras. Ragsdale has had the opportunity to study with great musicians such as Jeff Ellwood, Charles Richard, Katisse Buckingham, Bill Cunliffe, Francisco Torres, Kye Palmer, George Cables, Bob Sheppard, and James Rotter. 

He was graduated from  California State University Fullerton with an M.M. in Jazz Performance as well as a B.A. in Music Education. Steven is an Adjunct Professor of Music at Riverside Community College, teaching private lessons, large and small jazz ensembles, jazz improvisation, and  music theory. He also works with young students, both privately and as a regular clinician for various local schools. 

Steven Ragsdale is an Eastman Performing artist.
